Spring Tour

Hey Everybody!

We haven't really gotten a chance to update this thing since we've been on tour. Most of the shows have been really amazing. It has been sweet playing some great shows in new towns (ie Allston and Detroit). Seeing the Trumbellplex in Detroit and AS220 in Providence was eye opening. The way that people have been able to work together to make those spaces last for so long and give arts and community a place to exist is something I wish we could have in New Brunswick. We have also gotten some pretty cool write ups in SPIN, Chicago Sun Times, Star Ledger, and some other spots recently. And we are opening for Dinosaur motherfuckin' Jr at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on June 25th. Those tickets are already sold out.

Now, I feel like I have to say something about an incident that happened at a show. I saw a guy perform the most horrendous act of animal cruelty toward his dog. Immediately afterwards I and some other people at the show confronted this guy and he screamed at a friend about 'balls' and 'testosterone' and 'anarchy' and how a male pittbull needed to be treated like that. I haven't really been able to get the image out of my mind and can't believe this guy, this 'punk,' tried to use Anarchy and his male-ness as an excuse for his actions. Screaming Females fully support animal rights. Animal cruelty is something everyone should be aware of. I have lived with and interacted with multiple rescued animals that were at one point abused. I can personally attest to the fact that animals feel pain, understand fear, and endure extreme emotional and psychological damage as a result of abuse. ridiculous... I often think people should need a license to own pets. I have a lot of rejected/unwanted rescue animals too. Just cleaning up someone else's mess.
