I saw you in Portland (ME) also. Call me crazy, but I enjoyed you guys more than Ted Leo. I thought you were a lot more interesting, original, and grabbing. Thank you!
I was saddened by the demise of “The Big Red Pig,” and the subsequent cancellation of Screaming Females’ West Coast tour. I’m here to tell any disappointed fans that the band would never ditch unless it were entirely necessary. We caught them in D.C. during a snowstorm resembling, in the words of King Mike, “a post-apocalyptic war zone.” It was the first time in history the city’s mail service didn’t run. With snow piled six feet deep along the streets, and our nerves shot from a harrowing journey, we shrieked with joy upon spotting the now-defunct Pig parked in front of The Black Cat. With only a handful of fans completing the icy trip, Screaming Females (and Jeff the Brotherhood) rocked no differently than the times we’d seen them in front of capacity crowds. A moment of silence for The Big Red Pig, but Screaming Females rule!
